On Friday, Al Qaida confirmed that US Navy SEALs did in fact kill Osama Bin Laden, despite the claims otherwise by the “deathers.” This confirmation came with a threat of retaliation.  Americas ” happiness will turn to sadness.” This message came from Al Qaida “general leadership”, which seems to indicate that for the moment Al Qaida is leaderless. Unfortunate this opens the way of Bin Ladens chief deputy Ayman al-Zawahri to take power.

A statement released by the currently leaderless Al Qaida read:

“The blood of the holy warrior sheik, Osama bin Laden, God bless him, is too precious to us and to all Muslims to go in vain,” the statement said. “We will remain, God willing, a curse chasing the Americans and their agents, following them outside and inside their countries.”

“Soon, God willing, their happiness will turn to sadness,” it said, “their blood will be mingled with their tears.”

“It is impossible, impossible. Sheik Osama didn’t build an organization to die when he dies,” the statement read. “The university of faith, Quran and jihad from which bin Laden graduated will not close its doors,” it added.

“The soldiers of Islam will continue in groups and united, plotting and planning without getting bored, tired, with determination, without giving up until striking a blow,” the statement said.

Al Qaida is also calling for strike against Pakistan to “cleanse the shame.”

Only time will tell if the killing of Osama Bin Laden will have any real, lasting changes to the “war on terror” or not.

Previous mail from the recipient; that age-old password; what I said I wrote: it’s all in the mail.

“The mail,” of course, is a vast land, some 20,000 messages wide and about 300,000 deep; filled up to the sky.

It’s a good thing Mozilla Thunderbird has it all in its electronic mind, mapped and categorized, ready for near-instant retrieval — in a powerful manner to boot.

The Feds have signaled that they will not tolerate centralized production of medical cannabis, as is suggested in the Eureka ordinance. The Feds have also made it clear that they will prosecute officials that issue permits or pass laws that violate the CSA. As a matter of fact the Feds just told Rhode Island that they would prosecute anyone involved with its state authorized dispensaries.””Friday’s letter makes it clear the DOJ will now pursue certain commercial cultivation and distribution of medical marijuana”, said Governor Chafee, “even if such cultivation and distribution is permitted by state law, (emphasis added).”  “The Department of Justice previously indicated that it would not focus its limited resources on doctors and their sick patients who prescribe and use marijuana if such use was permitted by state law,” Gov. Chafee asserted. “This position was interpreted by some states (and cities) as giving them latitude to authorize medical marijuana cultivation and distribution programs.

Arcata should revisit its own ordinance in light of this fact and decentralize where the cannabis in its own dispensaries comes from.
